What is a scanned image?
A scanned image is a flat, evenly lit digital copy of a physical page or photo. A traditional scanner produces one with a CCD or CIS sensor; the same result can be produced from a phone photo by correcting perspective, cropping the edges, boosting contrast and removing noise.
